@idk650747: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners hits so hard because it combines a fast-paced, stylish anime aesthetic with a deeply tragic story about losing yourself to a broken, hyper-capitalist world. Key Reasons It Resonates • The Brutal Reality of Night City: The show captures a hopeless environment where corporations win, love is fragile, and nobody gets a true happy ending. • A Grounded Tragedy of Burnout: David Martinez’s spiral into cyberpsychosis mirrors real-world burnout, overworking, and pushing your mind and body past their limits for the sake of ambition or survival. • No Plot Armor: In true Cyberpunk fashion, characters face severe, permanent consequences. Beloved members of the crew meet grim fates, stripping away safety nets and making the emotional stakes feel real. • Heartbreaking Human Connection: Beneath the chrome, gore, and high-speed action, the core relationship between David and Lucy is tender, desperate, and doomed by the city they live in. • Studio Trigger’s Visuals and Music: The frantic, hyper-vibrant animation style from Studio Trigger paired with an emotional soundtrack (including "I Really Want to Stay at Your House") amplifies the gut-punch of the finale
