Tachoni didn't tell the Sabaot community that they will return back, it was the sirikwa people whom they told "Tachoni" and they left towards western Kenya. The Tachoni people settled on Mt Elgon before moving down the slopes separated from the Kony tribe....some group accompanied the Bong'omek tribe while they would later resettle on the same land with the Bok tribe. While staying with the Bok people, they had to go back to Mt Elgon among the Kony people in search for a circumciser. They came with the circumcising clan back to Mwalie. We refer to circumcisers as Chematwa, that is why we praise that our circumcision knife came from Mt Elgon among the Sabaot. We have another event of post circumcision ritual known as Okhulichana or Sangaya, it was also introduced by a clan from the Kony people. That's why we claim to go back to Mt Elgon in search of Cheptalang'i ( our maternal leopard). The Tachoni were not supposed to return to Mt Elgon but to Rift valley that is why when we circumcise, we face east but not on mt Elgon.
