Difficulty breathing If your baby is breathing very fast, struggling to breathe, grunting, or the chest is pulling inward, seek emergency medical attention immediately. 2. High fever A temperature of 38°C or higher in a baby under 3 months requires urgent medical assessment. Fever in older babies also needs attention, especially when accompanied by other symptoms. 3. Refusing feeds completely If your baby suddenly refuses breast milk or formula, especially alongside unusual sleepiness or fewer wet diapers, don't ignore it. 4. Unusual sleepiness or difficulty waking A baby who is unusually floppy, difficult to wake, or not responding normally needs immediate medical attention. 5.
