My mom always told me to never eat anything I was offered. If I was offered food or drinks, I had to politely decline. I never understood why until the one time I didn’t do it. My aunt offered me food and I ate it and then she complained to my mom that all I did was eat at her house.

This is why whenever i host i always try to phrase things in a way that eliminates this kind of thinking 😭 instead of “help yourself” i would say “you’ve gotta help me finish these, i do not need the leftovers in my home” like 1. They’re actually doing me a favor by having some, im pleading with them at this point, and 2. If you’re worried about being fat now im fatter, i can’t even be left with the snacks you gotta take them and relieve me of these temptations please i beg !

Well this happened to me before at work, a coworker brought in “snacks for everyone to enjoy” and announced it in the office and when I went to grab one she said “what are you doing that’s not for you it’s for ____ department and the warehouse workers” I felt like that fattest person in the entire room and I cried in the bathroom
