1. Stopped treating Saturday like a catch-up day. Just because something didn’t get done Monday–Friday doesn’t mean it automatically becomes a weekend task. I decide whether it actually matters before giving up my free time to it. 2. Started doing a Friday shutdown. I take 15 minutes to write down what’s unfinished, decide what needs to happen next, and mentally close out the week. This has reduced my Sunday scaries a ton. 3. Taking care of weekend chores throughout the week. Grocery shopping Monday, laundry Tuesday, cleaning Friday. Twenty minutes here and there keeps Sunday from turning into a big to-do list. 4. Stopped feeling like I needed to earn my weekends. I don’t need to finish anll outstanding tasks and chores before I’m allowed to relax. Rest doesn’t need to be a reward for productivity. 5. Started having at least one restful weeknight. Giving myself time to recharge during the week means I don’t get to Friday completely drained. 6. Started making plans that get me out of the house early on weekends. Brunch, coffee somewhere new, a workout class, a walk, farmers market. When I spend the first half of Saturday scrolling at home, the whole day somehow disappears. 7. Started planning weekends around my energy, not just my time. One social thing, one active thing, trying something new, and actual downtime. Having four free hours doesn’t mean I need to fill every single one. 8. Started keeping a running list of things I want to experience. Restaurants, activities, events, places to explore. I organize things I save online so that when I have free time, I already have ideas instead of spending an hour scrolling for inspiration. 9. Started making Sunday evenings simpler. A quick review of my calendar, choosing Monday’s priorities, and getting a few things ready. I don’t need to spend half my Sunday preparing for a week that hasn’t even started. The biggest shift was realizing: Instead of needing to plan better weekends, I needed weekdays that didn’t leave me so exhausted that I needed two full days to recover.
