My pain is that we ( black and coloured) are the same people but divided . We have no business hating each other . There is also little economic disparity- our townships are a mess . Apartheid messed us up and the ANC failed us . We have similar histories and lineage . We have similar suffering . We are children of Moshoeshoe , Shaka and Dawied Stuurman. We need to be honest about our colonially inspired bias and fix that mess . I love how honest we keep us ❤️🇿🇦

My uncle’s wife calls him and his family the k word…. Now when my family decided that she should never attend our events because she is better than us, we were the problem…… She has been married to my uncle for 20 years and the last time she saw my grandma was about 16 years ago when she. When my grandma passed she thought that she was forgiven, my aunts asked her to leave my grandma’s funeral

One thing we cannot ignore is how, for generations, black people in this country were made to feel inferior in their own land. We were denied opportunities, dignity, education and economic freedom simply because of the colour of our skin. Even today, the effects of that history are still visible. The painful part is that some people still look down on black people as if our history makes us less capable or less deserving. Being black has never been a weakness. We deserve the same respect, opportunities and dignity as everyone else. South Africa belongs to all of us. 🇿🇦

A lot of them would have kept apartheid because although they were ranked below whites, they were above blacks. And the latter is what’s most important to them

it's so exhausting and frustrating being subject to the straight kak that comes out of some coloured people's mouths. that time we have nothing that proves we are superior in anyway, but the only things that matter apparently is having straight hair and a slave surname

in high school we moved to Cape Town (Monte Vista) and there was a group of coloured unhoused people that would hang out in a park near the shoos. They used to call me the k-word like it was my name. on some "Hallo k-word,how are you today?". I was a kid and they called me a slur. They were unhoused and still believed they were better than me simply because they were at least not black like me.
