🚨Paul Scholes on Manchester United’s starting XI against Roma: 🗣️ Paul Scholes: “I’m looking at this starting XI and honestly, I have a few concerns. There are good players in this team, but I’m not completely convinced by the balance. Lammens starts, Dalot, Maguire and Yoro are involved, Bruno is there, and we’ve got Cunha, Amad and Mbeumo going forward. There’s quality, but is there enough to control a difficult European game? One player I’ll be watching closely is Ayden Heaven. He’s talented, but this is a big responsibility for a young defender. Against a team like Roma, you cannot afford to switch off or make careless decisions. I understand why Carrick has left Martínez out. He’s had his difficulties at the back, and he hasn’t always made life easy for the manager. But he’s still an experienced defender, and you have to ask whether dropping him is the solution or whether the defensive problems go much deeper. Then there’s Bruno. He’s probably the most important player in this team. United need him involved because without his creativity, I worry about where the chances will come from. Roma are not coming here to make up the numbers either. Rodrigo Mora is one to watch. He’s technically gifted, comfortable on the ball and capable of finding spaces that can hurt United. Wesley also gives Roma an attacking threat from wide areas. His pace and willingness to get forward could cause problems for Dalot, especially if United leave space behind. And don’t overlook Mario Hermoso. He’s experienced, composed and comfortable playing out from the back. Roma have players who can make this a very uncomfortable evening. My other concern is the bench. De Ligt, Martínez, Mount, Tielemans and Zirkzee are useful options, but overall, does this look like the depth of a club that wants to compete for every major trophy? And that’s not entirely Carrick’s fault. Look at the ownership and recruitment. We’ve spent money, changed managers and brought in players, yet we’re still struggling to put together a squad with proper depth. You cannot expect a manager to compete on several fronts when the quality drops so much once he has to make changes. That’s a recruitment problem, and the people running this club need to take responsibility. Carrick also has to get his decisions right. I want to see a team with a clear plan, not eleven individuals hoping their quality will win the game. United have enough talent to beat Roma, but they must be organised. Give Rodrigo Mora space, allow Wesley to attack freely or let Roma dictate possession, and we could have a very difficult evening. I want United to win, but I also want to see a performance that gives us confidence. We’re Manchester United. European nights at Old Trafford should be something opponents worry about, not something we approach with so many questions.” [ This is the source @UTD_Seth001 ]#mufc #manutd #manchesterunited #creatorsearchinsights #capcut
