@lnadoestutorials: Here are 5 more tips to help your first masters sound great: 1. Use a reference track. Pick a released song in a similar genre and compare your master to it at the same volume. I do this in my DAW so ut’s easier to compare and analyse them. 2. Test on different speakers. Listen on your phone, earbuds and in the car. A good master sounds good everywhere, not just in your studio. 3. Take breaks. Your ears get tired fast, so come back with fresh ears before you decide it's finished. 4. Don't chase loudness. Spotify and YouTube turn loud tracks down to around -14 LUFS anyway, so over squashing only costs you punch. 5. Export as WAV at 24 bit. If you need a 16 bit file, turn on dither when you export. And remember! This is just a guide for beginners, but like in mixing, mastering is an art form so there is no right or wrong way to do it! 😻 Ready to paw-lish your first track?
