They may be searching for the right word, wondering what happens next, or simply needing reassurance that they are safe. Slow your pace. Approach where they can see you. Offer a gentle smile and a few comforting words: “I’m here with you. We have time.” Peace can be found in small moments together. Sitting beside a garden. Watching sunlight move across the water. Sharing a familiar song without asking them to remember its name. You do not need to fill every silence or have every answer. Sometimes, the most loving thing you can offer is a moment in which nothing is expected and companionship is enough. And when your own patience feels thin, give yourself permission to pause and ask for support.
