$100k IN DAMAGES!? Copper prices must be pretty good, but this alleged thief's stunt is costing Seattle taxpayers way more than he would've made scrapping the wires. Newly released body camera video from the night of June 27 shows officers confronting Gregory Wayne Galitzeck on the West Seattle Bridge, where prosecutors say he was cutting and rolling up copper wire from bridge lighting. Galitzeck claimed to work for Seattle City Light, but couldn't provide any identification to prove that. The utility later confirmed he was lying, and noted he caused about $100,000 in damages. Police say they searched him and found burglary tools, suspected methamphetamine and an illegal fixed-blade knife during the arrest. Galitzeck is now facing multiple charges, including theft, criminal impersonation and malicious mischief. Prosecutors say he later failed to appear for arraignment, leading to a warrant for his arrest. #Bodycam #Police #Seattle #TrueCrime #CrimeNews
