Tragic turn: Father dies hours after seeking medical attention A routine visit to a health facility for complaints of foot discomfort ended in tragedy for a 51-year-old Princes Town man, who died hours later after experiencing a medical emergency while driving. The deceased was identified as Rattan Ramkhelawan of Broomage No. 1, Princes Town. Ramkhelawan died at 2:55 pm on Saturday, less than 24 hours after visiting the Princes Town District Health Facility on Friday. According to a police report, he had complained of discomfort in his feet during the visit and was examined by medical personnel before being prescribed two medications, identified as Iberstertin and Amlodipina. His daughter told police that her father had no previous medical history and began taking the prescribed medication on Saturday morning. However, at approximately 2:15 pm, the situation took a tragic turn when police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision near Family Mart Supermarket, Princes Town. Officers found his Mazda Axela on the pavement, with its front bumper against a parked silver Nissan Bluebird Sylphy. The Nissan's driver, who had been inside the supermarket, reportedly said he was alerted to the collision. When he came outside, he observed Ramkhelawan experiencing medical distress. Emergency Health Services were contacted, and Ramkhelawan was transported to the Princes Town District Health Facility. Medical personnel told police that he arrived with decreased responsiveness and was unable to speak. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, he could not be saved and was pronounced dead at 2:55 pm. Investigations are continuing.
