@shaquille_williams: NEWS BOX GY- Four days after a Venezuelan diver reportedly died while assisting with salvage operations involving the sunken MV Barima, police have released details surrounding his final dive, saying the 66-year-old entered the water but failed to resurface. Luis Martinez reportedly died following a diving operation on Wednesday, October 28, approximately 10 nautical miles off Anna Regina. According to police, Martinez and several crew members had departed the Kingston Wharf in Georgetown at approximately 5:14 p.m. to assist with efforts to refloat a vessel. After reaching the location, Martinez entered the water. Police said that after approximately 20 minutes passed without him resurfacing, crew members used a rope attached to his body to pull him from the water. Martinez was reportedly motionless and frothing at the mouth when he was recovered. He was transported to the Transport and Harbours Department Wharf in Georgetown, where a doctor pronounced him dead at approximately 2:30 a.m. the following morning. Police said there were no visible marks of violence on his body. His remains were subsequently taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where a post-mortem examination is expected to determine the cause of death. The circumstances surrounding what happened beneath the water remain unclear. The incident adds another serious development to the ongoing MV Barima salvage operation, which has already attracted significant public scrutiny following the deadly ferry disaster. Police say their investigation into Martinez’s death remains ongoing. #fypp #capcut #parati #goviral #guyana🇬🇾🇬🇾
