I got a call to get my son early and I had to turn back around and head home cause I couldn’t even make it through the flooding. Hopefully his bus can get through this. This is bs!

something thats throwing me off is that they never said anything about the kid getting hit near my school. I go to TCHS and i dont think they even mentioned anything about the freshmen that was hit. after years of very close encounters with cars when going to school, this is my first time seeing them have teachers (or A teacher) direct traffic at school. Why is nothing being done to protect children??? Its so flooded to the point where my knees and touch the water, cars cant pass through and kids are practically swimming to school. this is not safe at all and instead of creating more plazas and gated communities, they need to step up and clean the drains and make this city safe enough to walk around.

As a former teacher— it’s bc they only get so many days of “cancelled days”/year before you have to make them up at the end of the year. They did say it was up to the parent and it would be an excused absence

For each child that goes to school it’s $$$$, why do you think they push attendance. Used to volunteer and you learn so much behind the scenes. Glad my are all graduated. Good luck parents.
