@nate_mcmurray: LEWISTON, YOU GIVE ME JOY. As part of my series celebrating the unique and beautiful places in our region, I wanted to make a video about Lewiston itself. I’ve been here many times during this campaign and throughout my political life. The only campaign commercial I ever filmed was right outside Orange Cat Coffee. My first campaign rally ever was at the Brickyard. Why do I keep coming back when I don’t live here? Because I love Lewiston. From the Frontier House, where Charles Dickens stayed, to the extraordinary setting of Artpark, this place is full of stories and possibilities. Since the beginning of this campaign, I’ve said we should restore Artpark’s funding and help it become a legendary destination, like Red Rocks. Look at what nature has already given us to work with. We should learn from places like Niagara-on-the-Lake and find more ways to connect, do business, and celebrate with our Canadian neighbors. And why? Here’s the big secret: I believe the purpose of life is to have fun and make things beautiful. To give people kindness. To do good for others. To leave something better than you found it. That takes hard work—sometimes the hardest work in the world. But the purpose is joy. People will try to convince you that life means accepting misery or subjecting yourself to cruelty. It doesn’t have to be that way. We can build places where people feel welcome, where creativity flourishes, where we enjoy being alive and being together. Lewiston is a beautiful canvas for that kind of life. Thank you for all the kindness you’ve shown me over the years. Let’s hope we win on Tuesday. If I have the honor of representing you, I will do it with all my heart. #CapCut
