@cbsnews: Air traffic control audio captures the harrowing final moments of a Learjet 60 carrying nine people before it nose-dived and crashed near homes in Palm Beach County, Florida, Sunday afternoon, killing everyone on board, officials said. In the recording, the pilot can be heard declaring a Mayday and reporting a rapid descent, with increasing urgency and distress in the cockpit. The jet had departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was bound for the Bahamas when it crashed just before 1 p.m. local time, according to the FAA. No one on the ground was injured, and approximately 600 people were evacuated from the area near a mobile home park in Cresthaven. Officials have not yet disclosed what caused the crash.

Chelsea 1020 :
I wanna know from an experienced pilot what they would have done in this situation. From beginning to end. Like what would they have done with the icing and turbulence. What would they have done if they started rapidly losing altitude. Would the best pilot in the world have had a chance to save the plane.. maybe through a water ditching or something else? Or was it just doomed no matter what.
