@vicfallslive: OPERATION CHENESA | PART ONE: A FAMILY LEFT HOMELESS “We were not given notice.” Those are the words of Natiwe Mudimba, whose backyard home in Aerodrome, Victoria Falls, was demolished under Operation Chenesa. Together with her husband, Sithembinkosi Mumpande, she recounts how the demolition happened and how their family lost household belongings. The couple have three minor children, the youngest aged just three. Sithembinkosi says he now sleeps close to a gate at night to guard his wife and children, who are sleeping in makeshift arrangements. He fears elephants and buffaloes roaming the area. The family says poverty forced them to live in backyard accommodation because they could not afford rent. Now they are appealing for assistance. WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP?
