this pilot did an incredible job by not hitting anyone or anything. finding an empty spot in a road at that insane spot is nearly impossible and for sure saved many lives

Serious question: Why do planes fly through dangerous weather instead of avoiding it? You don't see boats intentionally heading out into rough seas when a storm is coming, so why do planes seem to fly right into bad weather? Wouldn't it be safer to wait it out or take another route? 🤔

I know nothing but it seems the pilots didn’t fully understand the ramifications of climbing when your already approaching speed at altitude. Did they climb snd experience crazy over speed? All the lift went to the back of the wing because surrounding air was moving way faster than air speed? On top of icing making the wings change shape and restrict their movement to combat that difference?
