for a month before our puppy came home I kept a box in a closet. every time someone left something out that a puppy would tear up or hurt itself with, it went in the box. after everyone spent all month looking for their stuff I pulled out the "the puppy ate your stuff" box. very instructional.

I give my dogs treats(2labs) every time they bring me items that get left out by clients, that way nothing gets destroyed and they are proud to show me what they found.

It took me months to get my daughter to understand this after our current dog would swallow socks, hair ties, and would chew on shoes, and anything else he could get. Remove his access by keeping everything put away and he hasn’t consumed anything he shouldn’t.
