![Brittany Mahomes Trashes Referees Over a “Weak” Penalty After the Chiefs’ Heartbreaking Loss to the Broncos Brittany Mahomes, 31, is unhappy with a call that helped decide the Kansas City Chiefs’ loss on Sunday, Nov. 1. Her husband, Patrick Mahomes, was moments away from leading the Chiefs to a win over the Denver Broncos. With four seconds left, he threw what would have been the game-winning touchdown to Rashee Rice. But officials called a false start on right tackle Jaylon Moore. The score was wiped away, and the Chiefs were backed up five yards. On the next play, Mahomes was sacked by Malcolm Roach, and time ran out. The Chiefs had blown an 11-point fourth quarter lead. They lost 28-24, and the Broncos took the top spot in the division. “You can’t tell me you call that on a game winning TD,” Brittany wrote on her Instagram Stories. “Oh wait yeah I can cause it’s us.” She added, “That’s the weakest call I have ever seen.” Coach Andy Reid backed up her view. “I didn’t see it,” he told reporters. “That’s one man’s opinion. I saw him move his head, but I didn’t see [a] false start.” The Chiefs are now 5-2 after back-to-back losses.
