Ijeoma :
I'm half African American and half Nigerian (Igbo). My mother is African American and my dad is Nigerian (RIP) and my mother loves Africans, especially West Africans. All of the anti-African rhetoric that you see online is coming from FBAs. FBAs is a small cult within the African American/Black American community and they're ideology is rooted fascism, nationalism, American exceptionalism, afrophobia, anti-blackness, colorism, featurism, and conservatism. There will be some African Americans/Black Americans irl that have an FBA mentality and you should nof associate yourself with them. However, I'm pretty sure that most of African Americans irl don't act like FBAs and most of us don't want to be associated with FBAs. African Americans/Black Americans live in a predominantly white country and the United States is a white supremacist country and we are taught white superiority and African inferiority. African Americans/Black Americans are taught that Africa is a backwards continent and there is negative stigma associated with Africanness, which why self-hate, colorism, featurism, Afrophobia, and internalized antiblackness exist in the African American/Black American community. African Americans/Black Americans who bully Africans, Caribbean people, and other African Americans hated themselves. Black people just need to decolonize our minds and do better! I hope to see African liberation in my lifetime.
