i feel like the issue is a lot of people lack the nuance necessary to properly participate in this conversation. mentioning that anti-african sentiment and xenophobia is prevalent in america is not accusing a specific group, nor does it now mean that whoever killed him could not have been a 2nd gen immigrant. at the end of the day, honing in on the ethnicity of the killers (which we still don’t know) is missing the larger point which is that anyone in america (regardless of ethnic background) is subject to the influence of the prejudices that exist here. since this incident occurred in america, mentioning american xenophobia is relevant even if the killers themselves are 2nd or 1st gen immigrants because people do not exist in a bubble. i’ve seen people get upset with creators like yourself for things OTHER people have said as if that has anything to do with their point. people are too busy either pointing the finger or being obtuse to get the overarching point.
