"Trafficked" is such a poor word choice for that. Like yeah it's correct and I understood the usage, but it's not the most common usage and, as evidenced by all the questioning, a number of people didn't understand it in that context. "Peddled" is right there. The passive voice still objectifies him, while "peddled" also implies low value and a general possibility of shady business or counterfeit products.
