@brooklynspencer78: Replying to @Alex I can’t believe I’m posting like this again but I’m not getting better so I need to make a plan. Is this just life?? If it isn’t just life, then why do so many of us feel like this all the time?
I had multiple bottles of lexapro stacking up cause I was so scared to start it. Finally I was at my breaking point and I gave in and took it, and it was the best decision I ever made! It’s been six months and I’m happy again.

Before starting any med (if you do decide to) I highly recommend getting a Genesight test done! I did this and realized the Zoloft I had been on for 8 years, that my PCP kept upping the dose on because I still didn’t feel okay, was actually not a match for me. I’m not taking anything and haven’t for a year now because once I weened off of the Zoloft I tried a low dose Lexapro and felt like a zombie. I said I’m done being a lab rat. I told my husband this is how people end up hurting themselves and I can’t go on like this anymore. I got a really good therapist, still have hard days often, but really try to do things that give me a glimmer of hope. Remember that the opposite of a trigger is a glimmer. ✨ Sending you hugs! 🫶🏻

I commented on the last post, but commenting here as well - I have felt this way more than I can tell you! I have been on antidepressants & anti anxiety (including lexapro) medicine before and feel like they didn’t do anything. I started seeing a new doctor on @Talkiatry and my doctor was able to diagnose me ADHD and OCD instead. I started medication for my ADHD along with therapy & let me tell you, that has made a huge difference! I say this bc I experience it too - you are expecting more of yourself than those around you are. Be kind to yourself.

Took me crying in my NPs office before I finally did anything. And I’m a NP and know how it works. It’s not easy. A combo of meds, therapy, and movement is the best! Find what works for you❤️

Adderall and lexapro queen over here. Every day isn’t perfect but I can tell you the days before I started lexapro were way more scary than trying lexapro 🫶🫶🫶🫶 I check in with my dr regularly to adjust any dosing but also journaling a lot helps!

Wellbutrin over here! Lexapro was not a fit for me but I know others who it was and then same for zoloft. It can be trial and error but once you find the right one its such a relief

Oh girl … your viral video popped up on my FYP & I can relate so much. Even your dad passing. My dad passed almost 10 years ago. I’ve been doing something called accelerated resolution therapy, very similar to EMDR. I also take meds. I can give so much advice, I’m a therapist myself lol, but yeah life is so hard.

I have tried a lot of them. I did my best on Wellbutrin/ celexa combo. Right here with you. Also really lean into God. He’s the only thing that will satisfy our hearts. Love you.

I am on the lowest dose of Lexapro (5mg) for me it is perfect. It takes the edge off so I can wake up and not feel like I’m in a deficit that increases through out the day. I feel like it lets me be clear headed so that I can pick and choose the battles that I want to fight and not have to fight every one because I’m so overwhelmed that I can’t think straight. I feel like I’m less agitated on a day to day, my mind is quieter and I plan to stay on it as long as I can. As far as things I tried before, im in therapy but other than that I was raw dogging it 😬. Something I try to remember is that there is no reward for suffering. You’ve got this! 💪💪💪

Hang in there. Lexapro made me fall asleep mid day. I also didn’t feel literally anything. Antidepressants aren’t always the answer. I haven’t quite figured it out yet but doctors do not help at all.

I would try therapy no matter what but medication was definitely what I needed. I had no side effects with lexapro except for feeling hope and happiness for the first time in my life

Counseling is great thing too! Just to get the advice of someone that has those tools and can help teach you the tools for yourself. ❤️

I love my lexapro, you definitely have to find your right dosing and you don’t want to miss taking it! I get brain zaps and very manic so I make sure to prioritize because it take a couple days to get back into the groove if I miss. I will say it was my saving grace! I’m just a better person with it. I’ve also done some hormone treatment through genesis and I loved that! It’s alittle pricey but they do a full blood panel and I was able to see where I was lacking and it was my thyroid and testosterone, after getting treatment I just felt like a new person. I hope you find what works for you, it sucks being a test dummy but you truly have to find what works for your body!

From a nurse married to a pharmacist, get a genesight test. My husband is so thankful for providers that go that extra mile for their patients. There is NOTHING wrong with asking for help no matter what form that comes in, but that test will ensure it’s what’s best for your body. It will not hurt to have your hormones checked as well, it helped me. Also, you’re beautiful!

Talk therapy has really helped me. I started going for grief then have continued going. I also took a small dose Zoloft for about 2 years. Both 100/10.
