Spookie died protecting him from nitas bear, so thats why when u use spookie as a super gus gets a decaying sheild (as spookie protects him and buys time, but eventually dies to nitas bear) and his mom ends up dying to the initial explosion, and so does he, but her body prevented his spirit/ body from being fully destroyed like hers, leaving him as a spirit

Guys to clarify:Gus IS dead.He died in the explosion with his mother, and he’s the only with who still has a body, his dog and mom were turned into spirits and guide him,basically became a source of his power,Gus was also a ghost in a starr park photo 2 years ago.Gus and his mom both died at the explosion because they didn’t have the gems at that time.
