My procedure in all email and texts is to ignore them and if I really want to see what's what, I sign in to where ever directly. Anything needing attention will be found there. Never ever ever click on a link.

if you didn't just try to log in and recover your password for ANY account then ignore all recovery emails. if you feel like you are being targeted then change your password through the account itself and not a recovery email. no one should ever click anything in a recovery email they didn't request.

There is never gonna be a fool proof method to avoid these. But a good rule of thumb is... if you didn't ask for anything, don't click anything.

I NEVER open anything in emails. I go directly to the sight or look on the web as to who it is to see if it's legit first.

serious question. can you tell me what this means? they came in a minute after each other, and half an hour after this I got a notification from Google telling me someone tried to change my sign in method. they most certainly got into my email account and deleted a ton of important emails in relation to a legal situation I'm currently involved in

I'm not gonna lie. I can't even remember the last time I checked my email for something that wasn't work-related. I have more than 9999 new emails and that was when I checked back in like twenty fifteen
