@benny.peyote.sanc: 🌅🌵 A Beautiful Morning on the South Texas Sendero This morning, I went out harvesting medicine, and I witnessed one of the most beautiful sunrises I have seen in a long time. The morning fog covered the land, the air was cool, and the smell of wild oregano filled the air. There is something special about walking these South Texas senderos early in the morning, when everything is quiet and nature begins to wake up. I even ran into a little baby skunk who apparently thought he was big enough to take me on! 😂 His little tail was up, and he was jumping around like he was ready to defend himself. I had to smile and give the little fellow his space. Sometimes, the land gives us moments that remind us to slow down and pay attention to the little things. I came out to harvest medicine, but this morning gave me so much more. It reminded me why these walks mean so much to me and why protecting this land matters. Every little plant, every animal, every sunrise, and every breath of fresh air is part of what makes this place special. We don’t have to look far to find beauty. Sometimes, we just have to get up early enough to see it.
