@misskmusic: The more gender-equal the country, the bigger the differences between men’s and women’s moral priorities. Women place greater emphasis on care. Men, on average, lean more towards justice-oriented reasoning. Kohlberg’s theory ranked relationship-based morality below abstract principles. Gilligan challenged that hierarchy as male bias. When compassion means excusing wrongdoing, is that moral superiority or moral weakness? Unfortunately, we've already found out what happens when compassion shapes society.

this is an explanation, not a justification. small scale they're complementary. but when you have societies that need to coordinate millions, men's morality scales better.

if we affirm such distinction between the sexes moralities then it by all means research and reasoning seems to suggest that men tend to have a superior understanding of morality(this doesnt have to be universal but rather a finding given this set of particulars), this video almost being an assertion of said morality where the contradiction isnt understood nor judged by reason or the high goods, and i doubt your evolutionary analysis makes ur case better

Gilligans argument is a black stain on the history of feminist popular history because it fundamentally misunderstands, on the most basic level, the explicit rationale given by Kohlberg (and common to all stage theories) for the ordering of developmental stages hierarchically. State 4 necessarily emerges out of stage 3, and longitudinal data supports this conclusion unambiguously. That such an argument ever attained mass cultural significance should make its proponents cower in shame.

There was a big experiment, involving 100s of 1000s of women and men across the westernworld, that proved women's capacity for moral justice. It was called the Lindsay Clancy case, and was actually one of the biggest experiments of it's kind, which is ironic because it wasn't even intended to be an experiment.
