Set boundaries 👏🏼 ⚠️ READ DESCRIPTION! ⚠️ | Lauren - Gilbert, AZ LMT Now, for those of you that are going to get offended by this video and act like I’m such a “victim” that’s NOT what this video is about. This post is to just share a story and experience that made me realize that having my own business, is the best thing ever! Small business owners alike will understand and realize, you may have an experience where you have to change your policy / add a policy right after their visit. this is very normal and happens all the time with any trade. For this instance, it had happened a few times and I was doing getting a random gap. I knew there was not an emergency occurring, so there was going to be an up charge. I do not work for someone else anymore, and I was not willing to have a random gap that was supposed to be a two hour session. If you book the max session duration with a massage therapist, you really should stick with it unless there is an emergency or you’re sick. For the times this has happened to me, it was an on-the-spot change that I did not appreciate. This scenario isn’t the biggest deal ever, it’s just that my time is valuable and I do respect the clients time as well. BUT I was ready for a productive two hour session and minutes before the session was supposed to start, it became 30 minutes less. As a business owner, you don’t have to be a pushover for every single person that walks in your door. Some people will take advantage of you for being a small business. ***I’m NOT saying these instances were an example of someone trying to do this… BUT BE CAREFUL I’m just letting others know you should not feel remorse for doing what feels right for you and your business. Thank you for reading ! #massagetherapy #storytime #massage #SmallBusiness #lmt
