It’s unbelievable no one on the ground was hurt or killed. This is horrifying.

My conclusion: Everything was manageable up until they climbed. I’m thinking the turbulence really did a number on the back tailwing & the freezing rain only made it worse. When they were cleared to climb, it put more stress on the tailwing & caused it to snap off 35 thousand feet in the air. Immediately after that they lost full control of the plane. Without that tailwing there was no way possible for them to pull up from the nosedive. That’s also why the plane continued to pick up speed & came down like a missile. They literally nosed down from 35 thousand feet in the air. The pilots had no clue and even if they did all they could do was pray.

I can’t even handle a steep drop on a rollercoaster that only goes 80ish mph…..I can’t imagine how horrific this would be. 😭😞

The co-pilot was a 20year old female who just received her license.

it's so terrifying that everything was fine one minute and the next they were just gone, I really can't even comprehend it, there's nothing they could've even done in that amount of time

They have weather radar. If theres some icing on the wings and youre looking at strong thunderstorms ahead. Why not say "we need to land right away". There were plenty of airports on the west coast of Florida.

My question is should a small plane climb like that in bad weather conditions? I’ve been on large commercial planes that took a beating from turbulence.

😔if they hadn't tried to climb up to escape the turbulence, maybe this wouldn't have happened

(The Bombardier Learjet 60 is equipped with anti-ice and de-icing systems for flight, utilizing engine bleed air to heat the engine nacelles and wing leading edges.) I would like to know during the preflight if they checked to see if these systems were working and if they failed at all that caused this crash.

I won’t share names but we were awaiting the arrival of friends on an outer Bahamian island. They were on this charter jet. It’s been a very somber past 24 hours. Our own charter was struck by lightening as we were descending days prior and we had to reroute back to Miami for the night. I think what’s more troubling is the fact this entire incident has blown up and is all over social media. A prior comment resulted in several news stations trying to contact me asking for identification of victims and offering compensation. I find this all sickening. We’re here for another week but this vacation is absolutely ruined and we’ll be heading directly to a few funerals once we return stateside. Hug your loved once’s, you never know when your time will come. Don’t @ me and I have nothing to share.

The dude who was the pilot doomed them all. Not only did he misjudge the plane’s capabilities but he also gave up before he even tried. The co pilot who was still in training was the only one who tried to save all their lives. If the pilot didn’t give up so he can run to the back and pray, maybe he could have saved a few lives. So much for God being good though right? Praying didnt help him there and got them all killed with 100 percent certainty. Don’t ever give up
