@colormebipolar: 💜 Bipolar Warriors, have you ever struggled to explain bipolar disorder to someone who just doesn’t understand? Living with bipolar is so much more than simply having mood swings. It’s navigating emotions, energy levels, sleep disturbances, and challenges that others may never see. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t living with the disorder itself, but trying to help others understand what we’re experiencing. We don’t always need someone to have all the answers. Sometimes we just need compassion, patience, and someone willing to listen without judgment. 💜 How do YOU explain bipolar disorder to someone who doesn’t understand? Let’s help educate each other! 🌙 #Bipolar #BipolarAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #LivingWithBipolar #ColorMeBipolar

My own family doesn’t get it after 21 years of being diagnosed. My mom does but nobody else does. They try but they just don’t. They think I could just snap out of it. It hurts..

My sister understands but nobody else ever understands why I feel on top of the world one day and the next getting out of bed is impossible.

I tried to explain this to my daughter this morning and she just argued with me. She says I’m being lazy because I can’t do any of the things that I was doing before like I have no joy doing my arts and crafts.

Most people have an idea of diabetes. e.g. lithium manages mood, insulin or metformin manages blood sugar. It seems to help. Good luck with explaining psychosis. I can take up hours 😂😇♾️

I can’t explain it to them because they don’t care to understand and some don’t believe in mental illness 😕

mania = EVERYTHING matters. depression - NOTHING matters. I got my diagnosis at 40 years old after being misdiagnosed with anxiety/depression. It was the longest river of poop to crawl through but now I'm on the other side, clean and happier!

Emotional dysregulation that is a constant battle of extreme highs and extreme lows. it can happen for 3 hours, 3 days, 3 weeks, and it's a constant back in fourth battle of your own mind.

Doesn't matter because nobody seems to think it carries symptoms. The expect you to just say you have it and take ur meds and therapy and they think thats it....u should be better they think. Noone understands except those that battle mental illness every day... I wish I never even knew about it or took meds for it...my life was better before ever knowing
