@professor.steph: You logically understand that they are trying to help, and you feel guilty for being mad with them. “Maybe I’m asking for too much.” “Maybe I don’t even need help anyway.” How we respond to our own unmet needs in the face of misattuned caregiving can say a lot! But at the end of the day, you asked for help and got hurt. Even though your partner may not have been trying to hurt you, a pattern in which caregiving is chronically misattuned does not support connection over the long run. And it doesn’t mean one partner is “bad,” and the other is “good/better-than.” It just means, you guys are trying to connect and haven’t been able to reach each other yet because there is a block there. The vast majority of blocks are workable. If you’d like to learn more, and also pick up the caregiving map I put on screen, comment CAREMAP and I’ll send you my free resources on this :) No one taught you the lessons around connection, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t learn now 🤍 #Caregivingbids #attachmentstyle #relationshipadvice #feelinguncaredfor #emotionalneglect

I KNOWWW he cares 100% but he doesn’t show it the way I would like. It’s so odd and I keep reminding myself we are both working on adjusting. It would be easier if he didn’t care lol
