@c4news: A plane crash in South Florida has killed all nine people onboard. The terrifying final moments of those in the cockpit were recorded by air traffic control. A voice in the plane's cockpit can be heard saying that they were "managing the ice" but faced "moderate" turbulence. Less than a minute later, the person said "Mayday, mayday", reporting that the plane was suddenly descending at a rate of 10,000 feet per minute. #Florida #Plane #USNews #InternationalNews #C4News #Ni40
For the people that think this was a missile because there's not much left of it, here's some basic physics for you as to why the plane was nearly completely obliterated apart from some scattered debris:
The kinetic energy (the energy an object possesses due to its motion) that is present, and velocity (essentially the speed: most commercial jets are travelling at around 500mph to 600mph) of the plane alongside the mass factor of the plane (its entire weight) are huge factors in this.
Then there's the extreme deceleration when the plane actually hits the ground, which if people need to look that up...this is where Newton's second law comes in, where the force experienced during the crash depends on how fast the plane decelerated.
Then you have the material limits of the aircraft, aircraft's are built to be lightweight, most of which is thin aluminium; and when the plane decelerates (crashes into the ground) the tail end of the plane still has forward momentum when it crashes, and is still moving at 100's of miles per hour. That forward momentum generated from the tail literally exerts a crushing force on the mid and front sections of the plane, effectively buckling, shearing and tearing the aluminium as if it were a piece of paper tissue.
Then you have the secondary energy (this will be the explosion) from the fuselage. When fuel gets out in an impact like this is aerosolises. When this aerosol fuel is combined with hot engine parts and friction (which also causes heat and a source of ignition in the presence of oxygen) as would be caused during the crushing force, it chemically destroys what the physical impact didn't.
These factors put all together are the reason why there is not much of an identifiable plane.

how old are some of these aircraft flying in the skies. a 30 year old Learjet 60 that climbed up to 37,000 feet to collect ice on it's horizontal stabilisation.

Why are we certain she said "we're out of time" ans potentially misrepresenting her last words. she might have been saying "we're out of tension" but got cut off, or something else.
