“ai major” might be too broad of a term to consider it a viable degree at bachelors level. The average understanding of ai is pretty much limited to a basic grasp of LLMs and the ML process. That being said… the “ai major” might soon become the next philosophy degree - unless the student further develops their education into a more advanced, specific degree. Not only that, the overall job market for CS graduates isn’t looking very good. The influx of AI degrees will likely not fix the unemployment issue, some reasons why are stated above.
