iEg JKENNEDY, thank you for this wonderful Gift sent in my LIVE! I'll cherish this moment forever. #tiktoklive #livehighlights #livegift #hatandmustache
There’s something so incredibly beautiful about having somebody in your life who makes time to listen to you even when their own world might be falling apart behind the scenes. Because think about all those moments when you’ve had a terrible day, when everything feels overwhelming, and all you want is somebody who will actually listen without judging you. You pick up your phone, send that one person a message, and somehow they always seem to know exactly what to say. Maybe they let you vent for twenty minutes about something that happened at work. Maybe they stay on the phone with you late at night because you’re overthinking a situation you can’t control. Or maybe they don’t even offer advice. They just sit there, listen, and remind you that you’re not alone. And sometimes we get so accustomed to having that kind of person in our lives that we forget something incredibly important: they’re human too. 😭 They have difficult days. They have things they’re worried about, situations they’re trying to figure out, and moments when they probably wish somebody would check on them the same way they check on everybody else. But because they’re always so good at being the strong one, we sometimes assume they don’t need the same reassurance they give so freely. And that’s what makes those friendships so precious. Imagine somebody answering your call with a cheerful voice even though they were crying twenty minutes earlier. Imagine somebody encouraging you to keep going when they’re privately struggling to find motivation themselves. Imagine somebody reminding you how valuable you are while they’re quietly questioning their own worth. You might never even realize how much they’re carrying because they don’t want you to feel like a burden. And while nobody should feel obligated to hide their struggles to support somebody else, it’s worth remembering that the people who comfort us deserve comfort too. Sometimes the friend who always says “I’m here if you need anything” is secretly hoping somebody will say those same words back. Sometimes the person who makes everybody laugh is having a difficult week. And sometimes the person who gives the best relationship advice is dealing with heartbreak they haven’t told anybody about. That’s why checking on the people who check on you matters so much. Not just when you need something, not just when you’re going through a difficult situation, but on completely ordinary days when nothing dramatic is happening. Send them a random message telling them you appreciate them. Ask how they’re genuinely doing, and give them room to answer honestly. Remember the things they’re worried about and follow up later. Let them know they don’t always have to be the strong one around you. Because friendship isn’t supposed to be one person constantly giving emotional support while the other only receives it. It’s about creating a space where both people feel safe enough to be vulnerable. And sometimes the most meaningful words you can say aren’t complicated or dramatic. Sometimes it’s simply, “Thank you for always listening to me. I know you have your own things going on, and I hope you know I’m here for you too.” Because the people who consistently show up for us are giving us something incredibly valuable: their time, their attention, and a piece of their heart. And if you’re the person who listens to everybody else’s problems while quietly carrying your own, I hope somebody reminds you today that you’re loved, you’re appreciated, and you deserve the same kindness you’ve spent so much time giving to everyone else.
