We lost heat and power for 3 days. We hadnt planned, so we had very little food, and no way to cook it. I was terrified my animals would die. I could see my breath in every room. I vowed to move after that, said I cant ever do this again, but im still here.

best part of the storm was hearing it being called a “generational storm” for 2 weeks before hand yet both county executive and governor refused to implement a driving ban until we were all at work. So thousands of people had to drive home in the middle of it

That was the first time I really thought me and my family were going to die. I NEVER want to drive in a white out/blizzard again!

I had to work outside during this storm unloading a truck, I then had to walk home in the worst of it. You couldn’t see more than 6 inches in front of you, and it was -15 degrees.

I had to take my son to the hospital during this storm. We called 911 for an ambulance because there was a driving ban. They told us it could be up to 6 hours. My boss was braving the driving ban to help people and came to get my son and his dad and took him to the hospital. I called and cancelled the ambulance. That was the scariest snow storm of my life.

I had never seriously considered moving outside of Buffalo until this storm. At 45 my whole life in the city, hating being a homeowner, my employer allowing outside of area living and yes partially this storm, the 1st time I ever fell in the snow and hurt myself pretty bad is how and why I love to visit friends and family but as of September 2023 now a Florida resident
