I'm sorry to trauma dump on your post but my dogs were together for 9 years. for 5 of those years, my female licked my male's ears every single night. one night, he got annoyed and kicked her away. she never did it again. we just had to put him down last month. when she came to see him after he was gone, she immediately started licking his ears. the only time she ever did it after he kicked her was her final goodbye 😭😭
