So embarrassing, I grew up in a farm town and was so indoctrinated I made a McCainiac shirt. One of my favorite teachers called me out and made me think for a minute on it. Good gal, I think about her a lot.

My grandparents got a Christmas card from Obama one year cause they campaigned for him so I just knew him as the guy on my grandparents fridge and voted for him 😭

I was in 8th grade and we had to do a presentation on why we chose Obama or McCain. I grew up in a super Republican household and literally had started the poster for McCain but when I started researching their policies, I found I was more aligned with Obama. That was my blue wave awakening 😅
