@ghareebfaqir: She wanted to hug and kiss him. He said, “By Allah, so do I”… then walked away. An Islamic reminder about fear of Allah, halal love and the shade of the Throne. They were alone. The room was empty. No one would ever know. She asked: “So what is stopping you?” He answered with one verse of the Quran: “Close friends, on that Day, will be enemies to one another, except the God-fearing.” (Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:67) “I don’t want to be a sin on your scale of deeds, or for you to be a sin on mine.” He didn’t refuse because he didn’t love her. He refused because he did. He was honest about what he felt, then he chose Allah over it. The Prophet ﷺ said there are seven people whom Allah will shade on the Day of Judgment, the Day when there is no shade but His. Among them: “a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position, but he says: I fear Allah.” (Sahih al-Bukhari) This is what taqwa looks like when no one is watching. Real love doesn’t pull you towards haram. It protects your akhirah. A haram relationship can feel like everything for a moment, but the sin stays on both scales. Walking away for the sake of Allah is not losing someone. It is protecting both of you. If you are struggling with a relationship that isn’t halal, with temptation, or with lowering your gaze, let this be your sign. Whatever you leave for Allah, He replaces with something better.
