Day 21/21: Posterior Oblique Sling | 21 Days to Unstick Your Hips This doesn't look like a hip exercise. But it might be what your hips are missing. For 21 days, we've explored hip mobility, pelvic control, posterior glute length, and the ability to move under load. Today, we're connecting those movements through the posterior oblique sling, which links the latissimus dorsi to the opposite glute through the thoracolumbar fascia. This connection helps coordinate force between the upper and lower body. Today's exercise: 1. Start in a split stance with your back heel pressing into a wall and your front foot grounded. 2. Hold a weight in the hand on the same side as your back leg. 3. Inhale as you reach the weighted arm straight down, exploring length through the diagonal connection while maintaining pressure through your feet. 4. Exhale as you pull the weight back and rotate your trunk toward your rear leg. 5. Maintain muscular support through your hips and pelvis as you move between lengthening and contracting. Repeat 5–8 times per side. You can keep stretching your hips, but more mobility alone won't necessarily give you better movement. For me, learning to connect my hips to the rest of my body has been far more valuable than continually chasing additional range. I wanted to move with greater ease while maintaining the tension and strength to support that movement. And that's what these 21 days have been building toward. Thank you for following along with my 21 Days to Unstick Your Hips! ❤️ #21DaysToUnstickYourHips #HipMobility #PosteriorObliqueSling #FunctionalMovement #RootForceMN
