Your personal guide to hiking in Acadia National Park this season 🥾🦞🫐🌲 There are sooo many great hikes here, it can be overwhelming to decide for a weekend trip ! Here are some of my personal favorite hikes as someone who lives in Bar Harbor: Ocean Path This is a classic path that goes alongside Park Loop Rd and is perfect for families and dogs! You can combine it with Sand Beach & Thunder Hole to spend a few hours. Cadillac Mountain South Ridge One of the longest hikes in Acadia. It’s not too steep, but there are parts that are more strenuous. Beautiful view at the top, perfect if you want a long hike, it’s dog friendly too! Cadillac Mountain North Ridge While it is shorter, there are many steep parts, and the elevation increases pretty fast. This is my favorite trail to watch the sunrise from the top of Cadillac, no tickets required and a MUST! Beehive Trail Not for the faint of heart, lots of iron rungs & exposed cliffs. It’ll likely have a line so everyone supports each other, but still. This is an Acadia classic, but don’t underestimate the hike just because it’s short. Bar Island This one is actually close to downtown Bar Harbor and not the park itself. It’s so fun to go grab a coffee and do it! Make sure you check that it’s low tide before starting bc you’re literally walking across the ocean! The Bubbles It’s easy to combine both the Bubbles hike into one. Start at the parking lot for an easier route, or I like to go from Jordan Pond Path so you can do 3 hikes within 2 hours! Bubble Rock is a classic sight! Jordan Pond Path Superrrr dog and family friendly. It’s a nice 1 hour stroll to take after eating popovers at Jordan’s (iconic). Go earlier so the crowds don’t ruin the vibe. Precipice Loop This is absolutely not for you if you don’t like heights or don’t have the proper gear! Once you start, you have to commit. It’s one of the most difficult hikes in the country for a reason! Be safe & smart, and you’ll have the best time ever! #acadianationalpark #barharbor #acadia #Hiking #newenglandsummer
