I also love that the new rules aim to keep players safe and healthy. I wrote a paper in college about concussions resulting in TBIs in football players. the research really opened my eyes

most kickoffs are fielded in the end zone for a touch back anyway. And they've actually adjusted the rules so that larger kick off returns are more likely while still prioritizing player safety. We still get returns for TDs. I will say 4th down kickoff rules need and adjustment to allow a higher chance of converting, I just don't know what that needs to look like maybe they should just do away with the onside kick entirely and adopt what the UFL does and do a "4th down" play to try to maintain possession.
