@jameseditioncom: The home fondly known as the Dolly Parton House is on the market for the first time in a quarter century, asking $7,950,000. Perched at the end of a cul-de-sac in the exclusive Bird Streets neighborhood just above the Sunset Strip, the gated residence was purchased by Parton and her husband Carl Dean in 1985 for $750,000. They lived there until 1990, when they sold it for $1.2 million. Originally built in 1977, the home was completely rebuilt in 2009 and further upgraded since. The four-bedroom, six-bathroom residence spans 4,689 sqft on a 15,127 sqft hillside lot with jetliner views stretching from Downtown LA to the Pacific Ocean. Walls of glass in the living and dining rooms open to a wraparound terrace with access to a geometric pool and spillover spa. The chef’s kitchen features double Miele ovens, a six-burner range, and a 48-inch Sub-Zero refrigerator. A library and media room with surround sound provides a retreat for quieter evenings. The expansive primary suite occupies the upper level with a coffee bar, fireplace, two bathrooms including a steam shower, a walk-in closet, a private office or gym space, and a deck with panoramic views and private hot tub. The property extends up the hillside to a private Zen trail and garden at the peak.
