@growithjessie: Since when do sunflowers grow edible vegetables UNDERGROUND?! 🌻🤯 These are called Jerusalem artichokes (or sunchokes)…but they aren't actually artichokes, and they don't come from Jerusalem! They look like lumpy potatoes, they're native to North America, can grow up to 10 feet tall, and if you leave the tubers underground they come back every year (and can spread like crazy). I’ve never tasted them…so I cut them up like potato fries, air fried them for 20 minutes, and tried them for the first time. Honestly? They taste really good, like if a sunflower and a potato had a baby. But be careful because they can apparently make you GASSY!😂 If they weren’t already…sunflowers might just be in my top 10 favourite edible plants now, so next year I'm going to try planting them myself! Have you ever tried these before?!
