@mattypowz.md: CAN YOU READ DERMATOLOGY? -What, like it’s hard? 💅🏻 Dermatology has its own language, and some of these Greek/Latin tongue twisters are harder to pronounce than they are to diagnose! 😅 1️⃣ Squamous cell carcinoma A type of skin cancer that can masquerade as psoriasis, sometimes appearing as a persistent, red, scaly plaque that refuses to heal. 2️⃣ Pigmented purpuric dermatosis (Doukas and Kapetanakis) An eczematous condition causing itchy, scaly, reddish brown patches with pinpoint purpura, often affecting the lower legs and sometimes associated with venous insufficiency. 3️⃣ Chondrodermatitis nodularis chronica helicis A benign but often painful bump on the ear, commonly associated with prolonged pressure from sleeping on one side. 👂 4️⃣ Perifolliculitis capitis abscedens et suffodiens Aka dissecting cellulitis of the scalp. A chronic inflammatory condition causing painful nodules, abscesses and potentially permanent scarring hair loss. 5️⃣ AEC syndrome A rare genetic syndrome that can involve fused eyelids, abnormalities of the skin, hair and nails, and cleft lip or palate.
