Season 1 was absolute peak low key, genuinely creepy, and it didn't try to be some huge franchise. Everything after just felt like a cash grab. S2 was a lazy rehash, S3 turned into a goofy circus with cartoonish Russian villains under a mall, and the final season was straight-up trash. Zero stakes because of insane plot armor, plus overexplaining the Upside Down completely ruined the mystery. Season 4 was the only exception that actually hit Vecna was cold and Max’s arc carried. But overall, the show just turned into another soul-less, CGI-heavy blockbuster. 😢
