@neurosmithing: Book Club: Soundtracks - Drop Your Anchor What’s playing on repeat in your head and is it a soundtrack you want to keep? In this Book Club conversation about Soundtracks by Jon Acuff, I share my reflections on overthinking, negative self-talk, and practicing a more encouraging inner dialogue. We explore questioning familiar thoughts instead of automatically accepting them as facts, creating affirmations that feel believable, noticing evidence that supports them, and asking for encouragement even when it feels awkward. I also connect these ideas to everyday care: finding an “anchor” when life feels unmoored, using breakfast as a starting point for daily routines, and approaching meals, snacks, and afternoon energy dips without judgment. Along the way, I share personal examples, dietary considerations, and reminders that help me return to what matters. This is a conversation about small, realistic shifts in how we speak to ourselves and care for ourselves not a demand to feel positive all the time. What soundtrack would you like to turn down, and what would you rather hear instead? Share what resonated, or suggest a future Book Club read.
