Eighteen months ago today, on April 26, 2025, I put down the drugs and alcohol for the last time. Four years and six months ago today, at approximately 3 p.m. in Arlington, Texas, my brother was involved in a car accident he would never wake up from. Two weeks later, on May 11, 2022, he took his final breath. Two dates. Two tragedies. Two reminders of just how fragile life is. I’ve spent much of my life being exceptionally good at failing. I’ve cheated. I’ve lied. I’ve stolen. I’ve committed adultery and destroyed a marriage. I’ve been to rehab three times. I’ve spent two years in prison. I’ve been arrested eleven times. In 2024, I attempted to take my own life. And before I could make a second attempt, I found myself in handcuffs again. I’ve disappointed people who loved me. I’ve broken promises I swore I’d keep. I’ve destroyed opportunities I prayed for. The apostle Paul called himself the foremost of sinners. I understand that sentiment more than I wish I did. But here’s why I’m telling you all of this. Because my past is proof of how far a person can fall. And my present is proof that falling doesn’t have to be the end of their story. I am not sharing my failures for sympathy. I’m sharing them because somewhere, someone is convinced they’ve made too many mistakes to ever become someone different. I need you to hear me. YOU ARE NOT TOO FAR GONE. You are not too broken to rebuild. Not too lost to be found. Not too guilty to receive grace. And not too far into your story to change how it ends. Eighteen months ago, I didn’t just stop using drugs. I started learning how to live. And if a man who spent nearly two decades destroying his own life can begin rebuilding it, please don’t tell me yours is beyond redemption. I don’t know your name. I don’t know what you’ve done. I don’t know what you’re carrying. But I know this. Your worst chapter does not deserve the authority to write your final one. Today can be the day everything begins to change. You matter. Your life matters. Your story matters. And even if nobody has told you lately… I BELIEVE IN YOU. #RadicalMovement #RecoveryIsPossible #YouMatter
