You have to lower the drop rates below traditional wow rates. Osrs bosses/raids don’t always drop gear, sometimes just supplies, etc. repeatable content is the key to horizontal progression, not just endlessly adding dungeons. For gear to mean something, it has to be rare

I mean just because there are 8 raids doesn’t mean you have to do them all. Just do a few until you get the gear you want from it.

Can they not just make raid tiers that have been out for a certain amount of time all the same level? Like once tier 3 comes out make tier 2 the same level as tier 1. Then the ilvl of tier 3 doesn’t need to be as high to avoid power creep.

I’d like them to do something when the new raid comes out each boss drops a key for the previous raid that opens up shortcuts so you can skip straight to the bosses.

I think the horizontal gearing thing works in GW2 because the raids have very skippable trash and so it doesn’t take more than 3-5 hours a week to clear them all. Wows current raid system will not translate to horizontal gearing after a patch or 2 of dungeon/raids being added to the game.

if you are a sweat who wants to run 9 raids a week for +1 item level bonus then go for it. it won't change a thing to anyone but you. that's horizontal progression. appeals to both casuals and sweats
