@stevencyrmd: Your MRI does not automatically mean you need something fixed. Just because a scan shows degenerative changes, a disc bulge, or even a tendon tear does not mean those findings are causing your pain or that they need to be “repaired.” Many people have these exact findings and feel completely fine. We always treat the patient in front of us—not just the picture on the screen. Symptoms, physical exam, and how the problem is affecting daily life matter more than an incidental finding on an MRI. — Dr Steven Cyr, Orthopedic Spine Surgeon Have you ever been told you needed surgery based mostly (or only) on an MRI report? My problem with this, by dismissing it as whatever percentage have no pain with those findings you are suggesting that the other group that has those findings with symptoms are not to be treated.

You also shouldn't ignore patient pain or complaints. All is needed to make a treatment plan. Y'all blow off the MRIs and dismiss patient complaints at the same time.

my lumbar from T12 to l5 are killing me any mri report shows..I have 4 herniated discs from my neck and in lumbar..t12 to l1 I have a very small disc..my whole lumbar locks up when I bend to long or lay down to reach under anyrhing..but, I felt so much better after my spine dr told me this, you just need to live with it..call him when I want those shots..he wants me to be a pin cushion so he can find where my pain is from..its not the fact that I cannot look straight up, nope that's not issue, my neck has a burning effect when I look down for to long..nope not yet, let's not worry that I fell 6 feet and landed on my right side as my head smacked into the pebble rock walkway and my neck made a hard bend to my right and heard 2 pops and now my head pulls to the right when I relax..it gets better..when I turn my head to my left my head tilts to the right..but, he never once looked at my ct scan, er paperwork..pushed on the middle of my back around my T12 and I jump.out of my chair and he tells me, it's your muscle cramps that cause you pain..not the bone..but shows me the door even after I try to tell him my right arm is numb and I drop stuff when I hold it to long..45 minutes later I was told you just need to live with it..I wonder if he even read the last line on my report..patient need to see a spine specialist to resolve the as e issues..I never seen any of my mri reports ever said that..but, once my pcp saw me trip over a small object in his waiting room,I was told to use a cane so it will help balance me as I get up to fast and wanna fall to my right everytime I stand or close my eyes while standing..I fall to my right and now I have to walk to my left to make sure my right foot wont drag..but, nothing went in as I was shown the door..

I would LOVE be a fly on the wall when medical professionals become sick, permanently injured, or old and feeble and are told to take tylenol...or they could just have one of their curbside appointments with their dr buddies to write them prescriptions for opioids 😁😉 yeah.....I think that's what ya'll do
