Anna :
Do you think this plays into oversharing later in life? I have both CPTSD from childhood and recently diagnosed ADHD

Emma Pearl :
I have ADHD and was diagnosed as a kid. I also have CPTSD from growing up in a very chaotic family etc. I dissociate all the time. I’m in therapy to develop better coping mechanisms but dissociation seems to be my primary coping mechanism. Bleh

gee :
i can keep a lid on it until i exercise, and then within about ten minutes i'm sobbing until i'm sick, and have an emotional, sometimes self-harming hangover for hours or days. which has made exercise, even like gentle yoga stretching, sometimes dangerous to try. and i don't know what to do anymore, i've been doing somatic therapy and somatic yoga and occupational therapy for it for years and it hasn't improved at all.

I never avoided my emotions, I split them off as reserved for only my own internal world. so I dont SHOW my emotions but I feel them very strongly.

I look back to my childhood (I’m 50) and I listen to what you’re saying here and I see such a contrast. I often wonder how different my life would be had I been supported and nurtured as a child.
